Community rules

These are the currently published rules. Moderators and AutoModerator may enforce additional account-age, karma, flair or posting requirements that are not publicly listed.

1

Only post things loosely related to "copywriting."

Don't post fiction or poetry or other things that aren't LOOSELY related to copywriting. EXCEPTION: If you want to discuss something *seemingly* unrelated through the lens of copywriting, make sure it's in the post, headline, or comments.

Applies to: linkRemoval reason: This ain't really copywriting related.
2

No bilking, scamming, spamming, or profiteering.

This isn't a marketing channel. A wee bit of self-promotion is fine, so long as it's a free & helpful resource. If links lead to a paid or lead gen effort, it must be disclosed or the post will be removed. If the post is all pitch and no value, it will be removed.

Applies to: allRemoval reason: No bilking, scamming, spamming, or profiteering.
3

No undisclosed or unsolicited links

Links are fine, but you must disclose whether payment or email signup is necessary to access information (even if free). Posts or comments that exist only to shill a product or service (e.g., a GPT-3 AI copywriting tool) will be removed and the user will be banned. Affiliate links will be removed and the user banned. Linking a free or paid service in response to someone's question or a request is ok.

Applies to: allRemoval reason: No undisclosed or unsolicited links
4

No pirating courses, content, etc.

Don't pirate or ask for pirated copies of books, courses, or other content that one would otherwise pay for. Instant ban for breakers of this rule.

Applies to: allRemoval reason: Sharing copyrighted or paid products
5

No AI Shills

No links to AI copywriting tools, no product reviews, no beta tests. Instant ban for anyone who posts this stuff. Only discussion is allowed.

Applies to: allRemoval reason: AI Shill
6

Don't be a dick.

This is a tough space for working professionals and it will feature lots of controversial topics. You're allowed to have opinions and be assertive. Arguing, tough feedback, and strong disagreements are fine. .. AS LONG AS IT IS CIVIL. *Unwarranted* name-calling and flagrant rudeness are not ok. If you're constantly rude you'll be warned and then banned.

Applies to: allRemoval reason: User was being an unhelpful asshole.
7

Personal Income Claims or Promises Require Verification

Any post making a claim about personal income or revenue generated needs to provide credible proof or back up in the post or privately to the mods of the sub. Posts won't be removed, but mods will comment about whether verification has been requested and/or provided.

Applies to: linkRemoval reason: No income proof provided
8

Job ads are fine. Pitching your copy services is not.

It is ok to make a post about hiring. It is not ok to make a post advertising your copywriting services.

Applies to: allRemoval reason: Self-promoter.
